History
Nolinor Aviation began operations in 1992. At the time, the company's principal activities involved passenger air transportation between Dorval and Schefferville, using Convair 580 aircraft. From its modest beginnings, Nolinor expanded its fleet from one to seven Convair 580s. With its specialized services and dynamic team, Nolinor steadily thrives and is growing constantly.
In 1999, a change in shareholders provides the company with fresh momentum. Its mission changes and the new management team sets out to broaden the company's market share in terms of charter flights. That same year, Transport Canada certifies the Nolinor maintenance division. The impact is immediate and Nolinor markedly improves the quality of its operation.
2001 marks a diversification in Nolinor's operations with the arrival of the first cargo aircraft in its fleet. The company provides a daily connecting air service between Dorval and Cincinnati on behalf of DHL Express. This experience provides the Nolinor team with an opportunity to demonstrate its reliability in the "just-in-time" service industry.
With the vigorous expansion of mining exploration activity in the Canadian North, Nolinor decides to acquire two more cargo aircraft. The destinations are often far-flung remote areas and the runways gravel or ice. Nolinor thus develops its expertise and becomes a key player as of 2004.
At the end of 2005, the firm's maintenance facilities move from Dorval to Mirabel. This decision enables Nolinor to occupy a hangar measuring more than 100,000 sq. ft., as well as more than 25,000 sq. ft. of workshops and offices. These new facilities pave the way to bigger projects for this team brimming with energy. Meanwhile, 2007 has seen the adoption of a new motto to inspire the firm's employees: "Moving Forward". |
